Despite some Braves fans questioning whether his defensive ability has diminished in recent years,
Andruw Jones was awarded a Gold Glove award for defensive excellence for the seventh straight season.
A glimpse at some of his
defensive numbers clearly show a modest decline since the late 1990s. But even if Andruw is no longer the best defensive centerfielder in the game, he's still among the best, and there's no question that his excellent glovework and cannon-arm have stopped many and discouraged many more opposing baserunners from scoring runs for the other team.
Congratulations, Andruw!
