Braves 4, Marlins 2 Tim Hudson (1-0) won his Braves debut pitching 5 innings, giving up just one run although he did walk 4 and struck out only 2. He also helped himself with an RBI single, going 1-2. Eddie Perez was 2 for 4, including an RBI double. Brian Jordan was also 2 for 4 and scored 2 runs. Dan Kolb picked up his 2nd save, although he did allow a run. Jorge Sosa, Kevin Gryboski, and Chris Reitsma contributed scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Braves 2, Marlins 1 (13 innings) Chipper Jones was 4 for 6 and hit what turned out to be the game-winning home run in the top of the 13th. Adam Bernero (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings and picked up the win. Dan Kolb recorded the save in his Braves debut. Mike Hampton started and pitched 6 innings, allowing one run. He did give up 3 walks and only 2 strikeouts, but got 4 double plays. The Braves turned 6 double plays in all. The bullpen, including Bernero and Kolb, pitched 7 scoreless innings. Giles MRI negative It's just a deep bone bruise. Both Giles and Estrada should be back this weekend against the Mets. Pete Orr has played 2nd base in Giles' absence, and contributed 2 hits Wednesday night along with good defense.
