Scoreless after nine innings, two nights in row!

on .

Tim Hudson was hitting 94mph in the bottom of the ninth. Man, that's good to see. Here are a few interesting factoids from the last few days:
  • Six starters (Smoltz and Myers, Hampton and Lieber, Hudson and Clemens) have combined for a 0.57 ERA in 47 innings over the Braves' last three games, allowing only 28 hits, 7 walks, and 3 runs.
  • The Braves and their opponents have combined to hit .204 (43-for-211) over the last three nights.
  • Tim Hudson and Mike Hampton have more in common than pitching the Braves to scoreless ties in extra innings on consecutive nights; they also have the same ERA after three starts: 0.82 in 21 innings each.
  • The Braves bullpen has allowed the opposition to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the tenth two nights in a row. Last night, Kolb and Gryboski lost the game (emphasis on Kolb). Tonight, Chris Reitsma got out of it.
  • The only Braves hitters with hits in each of the last four games are Brian Jordan and Raul Mondesi. Adam LaRoche had his five-game hitting streak snapped with a pinch-hit double play in the tenth.
  • Andruw Jones is 0-for-his-last-19, but it isn't all his fault. He's been the most significant casualty of three straight pitching duels. He had reached based in all nine games before the slump and was batting .345/.421/.533 (.954 OPS). Look for him to return to that form when he breaks out again.
  • Rafael Furcal, Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, and Pete Orr are the only four Braves to appear in all 13 games this season.
