The Braves are enjoying a day off on Thursday, but they're meeting the St. Louis Cardinals in Atlanta for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday night at 7:30 (TBS).
Game one will feature 2005's only two pitchers to pitch 9+ innings of ballgames that took 0-0 ties into extra innings, 2005's only two pitchers who can claim to be two of Oakland's former Big Three -- Tim Hudson for Atlanta and Mark Mulder for St. Louis.
John Thomson faces Matt Morris on Saturday night, and John Smoltz is poised to earn his second win of the season at Jeff Suppan's expense on Sunday afternoon.
My neighbor is from St. Louis and I'm from a few miles south of Atlanta, and both teams should be contenders throughout the season, so let's have a good series!
