Tim Hudson pitched 8 solid innings and the Braves knocked around Dodger pitching to pick up a win.
Hudson (9-7) gave up 2 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 3. Kolb pitched a scoreless 9th around a walk and a HBP.
The Braves scored early and often, knocking out Odalis Perez after 4 innings. 1 run in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, 4 in the 4th, and 3 in the 8th.
Offensive contributors: Rafael Furcal was 4-4 with a walk, an RBI, and scored. Jeff Francoeur was 2-5 with his 23rd homer overall, a triple, 2 RBIs, and scored twice. (He also threw out another runner, and is one off of the league lead for assists after only a little more than a month. His arm is like Roberto Clemente; the crowd actually gets excited with a hit to right field with a RISP for the other team.) Chipper was 2-3 with a double, 2 walks, and 2 RBIs. Kelly Johnson was 2-3 with a triple, 2 walks, 3 RBIs, and scored 3 runs. Brian McCann was 3-4 with a walk and an RBI. Julio Franco was 2-5 and scored twice. Andruw Jones was only 1-5 but had his league-leading 38th homer.
Everyone else won except for the Nationals. The Braves lead the Phillies by 5 games.
John Thomson will face Jeff Weaver tomorrow.
