Braves 5, Brewers 2

on .

Tim Hudson pitched his 2nd complete game in a row and Andruw Jones hit 2 long homers as the Braves took 2 of 3 in Milwaukee. Hudson (11-7) was outstanding, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits and 0 walks, and struck out 4. The runs he gave up were solo homers. Andruw Jones hit a 3 run homer in the 3rd, Hudson had a suicide squeeze in the 4th, and Andruw had a solo shot in the 5th to account for the Braves scoring. Offensive contributors: Andruw Jones was 2-4 with 4 RBIs, and increased his MLB-leading home run total to 42 homers. He also leads the league with 102 RBIs, and should be the NL MVP. Rafael Furcal was 1-3 with a walk and scored. The Nationals lost, the Marlins are losing, and the Phillies and Mets play later. If nothing else, the Braves will maintain a 3.5 game lead on Philadelphia. The Braves head home to face Washington tomorrow, and Jorge Sosa is set to face John Patterson in what could be a dandy pitching duel.
