Andruw Jones hit his 43rd homer and had all 5 RBIs to lead the Braves to the win.
Horacio Ramirez (11-8) pitched 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 4. Reitsma pitched the 8th and got into trouble because of a walk and an error, and Farnsworth got him out of it. Farnsw0rth then pitched a perfect 9th for the save.
After spotting the Nationals a 1-0 lead in the 1st, Andruw hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the inning. After Washington caught up, Andruw hit a 2 run single to make it 5-3, and the pitchers didn't allow anything else.
Offensive contributors: Andruw was 3-4 with his 43rd homer, had 5 RBIs, and a run. Ryan Langerhans was 2-4 and scored. Marcus Giles was 1-3 with a walk and scored twice. Chipper was 1-3, walked twice, and scored.
