High A Myrtle Beach catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia
batted .411 with 6 homers and 18 RBI in the month of July. This is very impressive for any hitter at Myrtle Beach; itís a big pitcherís park. On the season, heís batting .318/.389/.529 with 13 home runs and 52 RBIs.
He does have 9 errors, which is high for a catcher, and itís probably why he hasnít been promoted to Double A yet. His bat certainly seems to be ready.
