The Braves traded minor leaguer Ricardo Rodriguez to the Royals for outfielder Matt Diaz. (Edited.) Diaz hit .281/323/404 in 89 MLB at-bats last year. At Triple A he hit .371/408/649 with 14 homers. He'll be a 28 year old right-handed outfielder, who might platoon with Langerhans/Johnson. Not a bad acquisition, because Rodriguez wasn't a prospect, and Diaz might contribute. The Braves hope he'll be Eli Marrero 2004.
