38 year old veteran catcher Todd Pratt
has signed a one year contract to backup Brian McCann in 2006. Financial terms have not yet been disclosed.
Pratt's a nice little acquistion. He should be a good mentor to McCann, and has put up these on-base percentages the past 5 years:
2001: .327
2002: .449
2003: .400
2004: .351
2005: .332
Not bad for a backup catcher. He's a plus defender too from what I understand.
