The Braves have signed several minor league free agents to contracts, including Travis Smith. They also signed right-handed reliever Ben Grezlovski, who went 5-0 with a 1.44 ERA and 21 saves for an Independent League team last year. The Braves lost 4 minor leaguers in the Rule V draft on December 8. They were 2b Jason Bourgeois, C Iker Franco, C Cole Armstrong, and RHP Jason Richardson. They were picked in the minor league phase of the draft, so they don't have to make the 25 man roster in order to stay with those organizations. The Braves didn't draft anyone. Jim Brower and Wes Obermueller were non-tendered the other day, but Obermueller was signed to a minor league contract and could win a bullpen spot in the spring.
