Before planning to use Giles or Ryan Langerhans or Kelly Johnson as their leadoff hitter, the Braves will first exhaust all attempts to find a more conventional one.
Someone please explain to me why Marcus Giles is not a "conventional" leadoff hitter.
By the way, Edgar Renteria, who the Braves might trade Marte and McCann/Saltalamacchia for, is very overrated.
We could keep Betemit and get about the same production for a lot less money, and keep the prospects. If that's the deal with nobody else involved, I hate it. I still probably hate it unless we get something else.
