It looks like the Braves will be able to sign Tim Hudson to an extension. Contract talks appear to be going very well. Hudson's imposed deadline to get it done is Tuesday, so they have 4 days remaining. Bobby Cox has been impressed with Mike Hampton's command so far. He wants him to be completely healthy for the regular season, so he is not letting Hampton participate in fielding drills. If Hampton's command is good the whole season, I think he could win 20 games. The Braves finalized one year deals with Johnny Estrada, Adam LaRoche, Horacio Ramirez, Ryan Langerhans, Nick Green, and Wilson Betemit. Notes: Hudson talks progressing Bobby Cox is thinking about letting Andruw Jones hit clean-up. Kevin Gryboski has had shoulder pain this offseason, but he did last year also and easing through spring training helped him then, making him optimistic for this year. Notes: Andruw could hit clean-up Andruw also has worked hard this offseason, working out with John Smoltz and Horacio Ramirez. He is lighter and stronger going into this year, trying to have a breakout season a la Javy Lopez. Eddie Perez says it's the best he's ever seen him at the beginning of Spring Training. Andruw not satisfied with his efforts Horacio Ramirez threw without pain and Bobby Cox said he looked sharp and that it looked like he'll be ready.
