Tim Hudson had a successful return from the DL. The Braves continued to struggle with runners LOB, but when your pitchers shut out the other team it's not as big of a deal.
Hudson (7-5) pitched 6 efficient innings, throwing just 62 pitches, giving up 5 hits, walked none, and struck out one. Brower and Kolb set it up for Reitsma, who got his 9th save.
The Braves scored just 3 runs on 10 hits and 5 walks, which isn't going to work most of the time. Kelly Johnson had an RBI single in the 3rd, Ryan Langerhans hit an RBI double on which Andruw scored from first, and Johnson singled in a run in the 9th.
Offensive contributors: Ryan Langerhans was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Rafael Furcal was 2-4 with a walk. Kelly Johnson was 2-5 with 2 RBI. Andruw Jones walked twice and scored. Brian McCann was 1-3 with a walk.
Mike Hampton will pitch against Pedro Martinez tomorrow, as the Braves try to take 3 of 4 games from the Mets. Either Davies or Colon will be sent down to make room for Hampton, and the other will probably be sent down to make room for Chipper. (Although you can't tell, because I haven't been right yet on the speculation of these roster moves.)
Washington is winning by 2 in the 9th, and the Marlins are losing by 2 in the 7th. A Washington loss would move the Braves to within a half game of 1st. A Marlins loss would give the Braves a 5 game lead over the Phillies in the Wild Card.
