Runs Scored
464 Boston
457 NY Yankees
448 Texas
439 St. Louis
423 Cincinnati
416 Baltimore
416 Atlanta
Runs Allowed
316 Chicago WS
322 LA Angels
330 Atlanta
332 St. Louis
342 Minnesota
342 Florida
344 Cleveland
To be fair, Baltimore has played two fewer games than Atlanta... but Baltimore has a DH! Braves are third in the NL in runs scored and catching up quickly, and first in runs allowed.
But the pythags are on Atlanta's side (so what if the White Sox' and Cardinals' are
slightly better, for now). Here's how the NL East looks according to EXPECTED winning percentage based on runs scored/allowed:
53-33 .614 Atlanta
45-38 .543 Florida
44-41 .512 New York
42-43 .496 Washington
42-44 .490 Philadelphia
If things continue like this, the Braves should have no trouble at all winning the East a 14th time -- with or without Chipper Jones!
