The official site reports that the Braves have traded Roman Colon and Triple A starting pitcher Zach Miner to Detroit for reliever Kyle Farnsworth. I'm not sure that I like this deal very much. Colon has been excellent lately when in the big leagues. As a starter, he had a 3.09 ERA. He throws hard. Zach Miner was probably considered about a mid-level prospect at AAA and close to major-league ready; at Richmond he was 2-7 with a 4.23 ERA in 17 starts. Detroit just picked up 2 MLB-ready starting pitchers with some upside. More on Farnsworth to come. He has a reputation as a headcase.
