Phillies 6, Braves 3

on .

Brett Myers shut down the Braves while Horacio Ramirez didn't make it out of the 5th as the Phillies took the 2nd game of the series, 6-3. Ramirez (7-5) gave up single runs in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and a 3 run homer in the 5th. He only lasted 4.2 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits, 3 walks, and only struck out 1. Gryboski, Kolb, Bernero, and Vasquez each had scoreless appearances to finish the game. The Braves offense was completely shut down until the 9th inning. The only baserunner to that point had been an Adam LaRoche single. Then, Brett Myers got tired, and allowed some hits and walks, but it was too little too late. Offensive contributors: Nobody had a good day. Marcus Giles had a 2 run double in the 9th, but that was his only time reaching base. Julio Franco successfully pinch-hit in the 9th. Tomorrow night, Jorge Sosa will go against Robinson Tejada. Sportsline Recap
