The
AJC reports that Jorge Vasquez has been called up with Brayan Pena being sent to Richmond. The search continues for reliable relievers. Also, Roman Colon will make a few starts in Mississippi, then go to Richmond to be their closer.
This means that Brian McCann will be the backup catcher for Johnny Estrada at least until Eddie Perez returns from the Disabled List.
Jorge Vasquez was 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA and 10 saves in 30.2 innings pitched at Double A Mississippi. He had given up 17 hits, 1 HR, 6 walks, and 34 strikeouts.
