The Braves signed Tim Hudson to a 4 year contract extension worth $47 million. Hudson will make $6.75M this year fulfilling his old contract. The new contract will pay him $4M in 2006, $6M in 2007, $13M in 2008, and $13M in 2009, plus a $10M signing bonus as soon as the extension is approved by the commissioner's office. The contract also comes with a mutual option for $12M in 2010 with a $1M buyout. (Check the middle of that ESPN article. Apparently Hudson didn't mind sacrificing a few million dollars to stick with Atlanta!)
