Top catching prospect Jarrod Saltalamacchia is hitting .288/386/438 with a homer and 8 RBIs in 73 ABs.
Utility infield prospect Jon Schuerholz is hitting .310/394/345 with no homers and 7 RBIs in 58 ABs.
At last notice,
Wilson Betemit was doing well in DR winter ball. He was hitting .328/427/625 with 5 homers and 12 RBIs in 64 ABs. After his fine rookie season last year, he's making the Braves think hard about keeping Rafael Furcal. Betemit could be a potential stopgap until top prospect Yunel Escobar or 17 year old phenom Elvis Andrus are ready. Rumors are that Furcal wants 10 million a year in a 4 or 5 year contract.
