The Braves sent 10 men to the plate in the 4th inning and scored 6 runs on their way to another victory.
Hudson (12-7) wasn't particularly sharp and went 6.1 innings and gave up 4 runs on 12 hits, 0 walks, and 7 strikeouts. He gave up a couple of homers that cost him more than the other 10 hits (mostly singles). Foster finished the 7th, Reitsma got 2 outs in the 8th, and Farnsworth finished the game for the save.
The Braves got on the board first with a solo homer by Chipper. Then they got 6 runs in the 4th with a bunch of hits. Hudson allowed a 3 run homer in the 5th, and a solo homer to Ken Griffey in the 7th before leaving the game. That did it for the scoring.
Offensive contributors: Chipper was 2-3 with his 15th homer, a walk, and scored twice. Julio Franco was 2-4 with an RBI and scored a run.
The Phillies and Marlins won, and the Mets and Nationals lost. The lead stays at 4 games.
Jorge Sosa is listed as the starter on 3 days rest against Luke Hudson.
