That looks more like a football score than baseball score, but it's a win and the Braves offense is heating up again.
Villarreal wasn't effective, lasting 3 innings and allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. The Braves were in a 3-0 after the first inning, and in a 4-2 hole after Villarreal was pinch-hit for. But the Braves put up a 6 spot in the 3rd and pretty much coasted from there.
Lance Cormier pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 runs, getting through the 6th. McBride (4-1, 3.79) pitched the next 2 innings scorelessly and was credited with the win. Yates pitched the 9th.
Offensive contributors: Every starting position player had at least 1 hit. McCann had 4 hits, 2 of them doubles. Giles had 3 hits. Renteria and LaRoche each had 2 hits; Renteria had 2 doubles and LaRoche hit a bases clearing double. Andruw hit his 30th homer, Francoeur hit his 24th homer, and Chipper hit his 21st homer.
The Braves are off tomorrow and start a series against the Giants on Tuesday. Hudson faces Jason Schmidt.
