Braves 5, Marlins 3

on .

Brian McCann went 3 for 5 and Chuck James had another strong start as the Braves took their 3rd straight win. James (6-3, 4.19) went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, 1 homer, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Paronto gave up a run in the 7th, but Baez and Wickman closed the door late. There were no big innings, as each team scored single runs in each inning that they scored. The Braves had 2 more innings when they scored than the Marlins did. Offensive contributors: Brian McCann was 3-5 with a double and had 3 RBIs. Chipper Jones was 2-5 with 2 doubles and scored twice. Pete Orr was 2-4. Edgar Renteria was 1-4 with a walk, an RBI, and scored. Jeff Francoeur was 1-4 with a walk and an RBI. Andruw Jones walked twice. Lance Cormier pitched decently today and kept the Braves in the game, but they are trailing right now in the 8th inning 4-3 as I type this. Recap to come later.
