Jeff Bennett's contract has been voided, as the Braves have
found that he needs Tommy John surgery from a past injury.
Veteran Carlos Almanzar
has been signed. His best season was 2004 with a 3.72 ERA in 67 games with Texas, but he had Tommy John surgery last year. I think he's roster filler for Richmond's bullpen.
(Random observation: Take the R off the end of Almanzar and you get Almanza, another worthless pitcher!)
