That was a blowout. The Braves have now won 3 out of their last 4 series.
Chuck James (3-0, 2.87) was the recipient of the run support, going 6 innings and allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. He gave up 2 homers. Yates, McBride, and Paronto each pitched a scoreless inning to finish it.
The Braves batted around twice, getting it started with a 5 run first, and then put the game away with a 6 run 4th.
Offensive contributors: Scott Thorman hit his first career homer in the 7th. Edgar Renteria extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a 3-6 game. Adam LaRoche also had 3 hits, while Chipper and Langerhans also had 2 hits. Every starting position player tonight had at least 1 hit, and the Braves had 23 baserunners on the night by way of hits, walks, and HBP.
The Braves will now host the Reds, and Tim Hudson will pitch against Joe Mays.
