Jones led the league with 24 total bases and was also tied for the league lead with a 1.000 slugging percentage. The former N.L. MVP had 12 hits, three home runs, three doubles, four runs scored and compiled a .520 on-base percentage over six games. Chipper collected at least one hit in every game he played this week including a pinch-hit three-run home run in the eighth inning at Baltimore on Sunday, July 2nd. The switch-hitting slugger added two three-hit performances to help lead the Braves to a 3-3 record on the week. Jones moved past Dale Murphy to become the Braves all-time leader in RBI earlier this season and is the only switch-hitter in major league history to own a career .300 batting average (.302) and hit at least 300 home runs (341).
