The Braves left 1,598,565 men on base and dropped the game to the Orioles.
Tim Hudson (6-8, 4.57) has issues. He couldn't get out of the 3rd, gave up 6 runs (5 earned) on 11 hits, 2 walks and one strikeout. His infield defense was pretty bad behind him.
Chris Reitsma had to leave the game after his ulnaritis flared up. He pitched a scoreless 7th around a double, and was saved of another double by Andruw. But he had to leave in the 8th after he literally lost control of his right hand. I'm pretty sure his Braves career is over, but hopefully he'll be able to catch on with another team.
Yates came in to clean up Hudson's mess in the 3rd and pitched a scoreless 4th. Cormier allowed a run in 2 innings of work. Reitsma pitched the 7th and got one out in the 8th while allowing 2 baserunners, but McBride got the next 2 outs. Villarreal pitched a scoreless 9th.
The Braves had 17 baserunners in the game. They got on base, but then people started swinging at everything. Scott Thorman came up in the 7th with the bases loaded and 2 out, but then after swinging at the first 2 pitches in the dirt, flew out. He wasn't the only culprit, but that was how the game went.
Everyone contributed offensively; all 8 position players had at least 1 hit in the game.
Horacio Ramirez against Kris Benson tomorrow.
