The Braves strung together some seeing-eye hits in the 4th to score twice. That was all they'd score.
Ramirez gave the Braves a valiant effort in his return, going 6.2 innings and allowing 1 run on 7 hits, 6 walks, and struck out 5, and threw 126 pitches before Bobby had no choice to go to the bullpen.
Yates got the last out in the 7th. Paronto and Remlinger (2-3, 4.03) combined to give up the losing runs in the 8th. Ray finished the 8th and pitched the 9th.
Offensive contributors: Andruw Jones was 3-4 with a double and scored. Wilson Betemit was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
The Braves go to Tampa Bay and Smoltz will pitch against Casey Fossum.
