The Braves couldn't hit themselves out of a wet paper bag tonight.
Sosa (1-9, 5.35) pitched 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 8 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 2. The damage was a Cody Ross 2 run homer.
Yates gave up a solo homer in the 7th. Phil Stockman made his major league debut and pitched around a leadoff double for a scoreless 8th.
The Braves offense was an Andruw RBI single in the 4th and a LaRoche solo homer in the 9th.
Offensive contributors: Adam LaRoche was 2-4 with his 11th homer. Matt Diaz was 2-4. Edgar Renteria walked twice and scored.
The Braves now host the Red Sox for the first interleague series of the year. Hudson pitches against Jon Lester.
