What do the Braves have going for them? Not much.
Brian McCann was 3-3 with a double and a walk.
Smoltz (4-5, 3.78) went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Yates pitched a scoreless 7th. Remlinger gave up a run in the 8th.
Offense? None, other than McCann. The Braves did have 8 hits and 3 walks, and found a way to score just 1.
Reitsma went on the DL with "numbness in his hand". Phil Stockman,
finally, got called up. He has an ERA below 1 at Richmond.
Thomson loses to Dontrelle tomorrow. The Marlins have some good young pitchers. Tonight's starter, Johnson, has an ERA of about 2. Ricky Nolasco throws hard. They might be good next year.
