Kyle Davies and Andruw Jones put on a show as the Braves routed the Mets and proved a early season point: it's going to be a battle all season.
Davies (1-1) pitched a complete game three hitter, allowing 1 run, walking 1 and striking out 6. He lowered his ERA from eight something to 4.82.
Andruw hit 2 homers, had 4 RBI, and had a huge diving catch in the 1st inning to save Davies and the Braves at least one run.
The Braves scored 2 runs in the 1st, and Andruw hit his 2 homers later in the game to give the Braves all the room they needed. Adam LaRoche also homered.
Offensive contributors: Andruw Jones was 3-5 with 2 homers (his 6th and 7th) and had 4 RBIs. Adam LaRoche was 3-4 with his 4th homer, doubled and had 3 RBIs. Wilson Betemit was 1-4 with a walk and scored twice.
Marcus Giles left the game with a sprained finger on his left hand. X-rays were negative; he's day-to-day.
The Mets' lead is down to 4 games.
Tim Hudson to face Tom Glavine tomorrow; winner takes this series.
