The Braves knocked around Brett Tomko to salvage the last game of the series.
The Braves scored 2 runs in the first on an Andruw 2 run homer. Then, they scored 5 times in the 3rd, highlighted by a Chipper 2 run homer and some shoddy Dodger defense, and cruised from there.
Hudson (5-3, 3.99) threw 7 good innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 7. Villarreal got 2 outs in the 8th, giving up a run. McBride got the last out, then Ray pitched a perfect 9th with 2 K's.
Offensive contributors: Andruw Jones was 3-4 with his 13th homer, 3 RBIs, and scored 3 runs. Chipper Jones was 2-3 with his 5th homer, tripled, walked, had 2 RBIs, and scored 3 runs. Jeff Francoeur was 2-3, had an RBI, and scored. Ryan Langerhans was 1-3 with a walk.
The Mets are scoreless in the 13th, while the Phillies lost. The Braves are back in 2nd, and will be no further back than 4.5 games.
The Braves will now host Arizona, and Horacio will pitch against Juan Cruz tomorrow night.
