Generally speaking, season-long statistics show that our offense is pretty good, while our pitching is below average.
The pitching has been better in the month of May, with an ERA of 4.37 instead of the 4.56 it posted in April. If the closer's problem gets fixed it should go down further if everyone pitches as well as they have lately. (A big if.) Generally, everyone on the current roster has pitched pretty well lately other than Reitsma, Villarreal, and Cormier in his 1st outing back from the DL.
The same goes for the offense except a much dramatic improvement, which is .297/.369/.442/.811 this month over .247/.314/.426/.740 in April. I don't think our hitting is this good (nobody's is) but I see no reason why it shouldn't stay towards the top of the league.
