The Marlins walloped Braves pitching as they evened the series.
Davies had no command of the strike zone, lasting just 4 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. McBride pitched 2 scoreless innings, but Moylan gave up 3 runs in his inning and Reitsma couldn't even finish his inning, giving up 4 runs. Remlinger got the last out. It's time to try Villarreal or Ray as closer.
Renteria's hitting streak was snapped.
There wasn't hardly any offense until the 9th when the Braves were down 11-1. LaRoche hit a 2 run double.
Offensive contributors: Jeff Francoeur was 2-4 and scored, extending his hitting streak to 8 games. Ryan Langerhans was 1-3, walked, and had an RBI. Chipper had a hit to extend his hitting streak to 9 games.
The Mets blew out the Phillies, so we're back to 8 games out.
