Well, at least we can beat the worst team in the league.
In Game 2 of the series, Chuck James (9-3, 3.57) had yet another strong start, going 7 innings and allowing 3 runs on a walk and 6 Ks, and was backed by his offense as the Braves won 7-3.
In Game 3, a pitching duel surfaced. I didn't know Lance Cormier (3-4, 4.80) had it in him. He went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, walked none and struck out 10. The Braves got a manufactured run in the 3rd, and back-to-back doubles from LaRoche and McCann in the 6th. The bullpen pitched well, and the Braves won 2-1.
The Braves will go for a 4 game sweep tomorrow. Smoltz against somebody named Rich Hill tomorrow.
