The Marlins knocked out Lance Cormier after 2 innings and held on to win.
Cormier (3-5) allowed 6 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 0 strikeouts. The bullpen was good, going 7 innings and allowing nothing, giving the Braves a chance to get back in it. Barry, Villarreal, Paronto and Yates gave the Braves scoreless innings.
The Braves scored 3 early runs themselves including a Giles leadoff homer, and one more late run, but it wasn't enough.
Offensive contributors: Marcus Giles was 2-5 with his 11th homer, had 3 RBIs, and scored. Andruw Jones was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Jeff Francoeur was 1-3 with a walk.
John Smoltz will pitch against Annibal Sanchez tonight.
