The Braves have signed a contract extension with veteran John Smoltz.† The deal, which has the potential to last through 2010, all but assures that Smoltz will retire having spent his entire career as a Brave.† The contract is guaranteed for 2008, with a vesting option in 2009 and a club option in 2010.† Financial details have yet to be released, but no matter what they are, it's worth it for the Braves.
Good news for Braves fans on this otherwise quiet off day.
