Another series loss, this time to the resurgent Cardinals. After taking the first game on the back a strong outing by Smoltz, the Braves contrived to lose the second game with Hudson on the mound and now this effort from Jo-Jo Reyes.
In fairness the Braves pitched reasonably well today. Reyes only gave up four runs, two of which were earned. The other two, well, they were Chris Woodward's fault. Woodward was for some reason standing in for Chipper and with a run in and two out in the fifth Woodward mis-gloved allowing a run to score, which led to another run scoring. Ugly. Please let me know if you have any idea why this guy is playing pro-ball.
The only good news is that the Mets also lost so we didn't fall back any further. On the basis of the last three series our postseason hopes are hanging by a thread.
