Tom Tango has launched the
2007 fans scouting report. If you are new to this game the deal is that Tom gets fans of each team to rate fielders across a spectrum of skills based on their observations (either live or on TV).
The theory is that defensive metrics are inaccurate and that asking, say, 100 fans for their opinion on a particular player is more valuable than consulting a particular fielding system.
