I feel that I just had to say something about it. Tom Glavine picked up his 300th win tonight as he beat the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley. It seemed like ages for Glavine to reach the milestone. Glavine, who pitched his first sixteen seasons with Atlanta, compiled 252 of his wins with the Braves as well as two Cy Young awards. Not only did he pick up the win, but he moved the Braves into a tie with Chicago for second in the NL Wild Card race, only two back of the Padres. Despite his using the Braves for leverage in his new deal with the Mets this off-season, you still have to respect the man for quite an accomplishment in a career that will undoubtedly end with him going into Cooperstown with a Braves hat on his head. I can at least take comfort that Bonds' tainted accomplishment has been partially overshadowed by two deserving accomplishments in the past two days. Congratulations Tommy!
