- Stark names the Braves as a team that would be interested in White Sox starter Mark Buehrle once he is made available in a week or two. Every trade rumor involving the Braves and a big name player is going to include Jarrod Saltalamacchia, but with the chances already low that Salty is moved, there is no chance that Kenny Williams would be able to get the Braves catcher for a rental player. MLB Trade Rumors mentions Brandon Jones and Brent Lillibridge as a possible package but I think something involving Yunel Escobar would also make a great fit.
- Now I finally have something substantial to put these Ken Griffey Jr. rumors to rest. Stark says the Braves are not interested in taking on contract like Griffey's that has big money after this year, and will focus on pitching and not offensive upgrades. Speculation was circling because Griffey had said he would play for Atlanta but there was never anything to make this an actual rumor.
