The Braves managed a 6-4 win over the Astros on Monday, but it was a bittersweet win. After 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball, Cormier was forced to exit the game with stiffness in his shoulder and hand the ball over to Rich Scalamandre.
Cormier said today after the game that there was no discomfort until the last pitch, which sounds like a good thing.† Right now we still don't really know until the team doctor's check him out and the team makes an announcement. I'd venture a guess that the worst case is he misses his last spring start.
If this does require him to miss significant time though, Davies will find himself in the last spot in the rotation. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and Davies can regain his confidence with a couple starts in Richmond. I don't see this as something that is going to drastically effect the team though.
