According to the NY Daily News, Mets GM Omar Minaya is
letting it be known that Jorge Sosa is available, if the price is right. That means that you -- yes, you -- can be the lucky owner of one bona fide Jorge Sosa, the noted 30-year-old with a career record of 36-48 and 4.59 lifetime ERA, who has managed to rack up 5.79 strikeouts, 4.07 walks, and 9.03 hits per 9 innings pitched. Scott Schoeneweis (or, as his friends like to call him, pages 302-303 of the
Mitchell Report) is also available, and he sports a lovely 5.01 career ERA, with 5.20 strikeouts, 3.61 walks, and 9.56 hits per 9.
The Mets are clearly trying to flex their muscles and show the world that they have so much pitching depth, they can afford to trade away a guy who yearly struggles to be league-average and a guy who was fingered as a stanozolol user.
These 2008 Mets must be
stacked, huh?
