Yesterday was just all-around disappointing for the Braves. The pitching (Jurrjens and Ring) struggled and while the offense had plenty of opportunities, it seemed like Willie Harris was there for every one to rob a couple of runs. There were a couple good signs though. Despite facing a left-hander, the Braves offense was pretty good and just got some very unlucky breaks.
With the series on the line, the Braves will send Jo-Jo Reyes to the mound to face another southpaw and former Brave in Odalis Perez. Despite his 2-7 record, Perez has been pretty good this season with a 3.71 ERA and pretty decent peripherals. One stat that should make Braves fans happy is his 4.96 ERA in eight starts away from Washington.
The Nationals and their lefty-heavy pitching staff have really been a problem for the Braves this season but hopefully the Braves have enough offense in the tank to win behind Jo-Jo Reyes.
