I'm not going to discuss yesterday's game. Yesterday's girlfriend was an ex-girlfriend, an abomination, a moment that can't be forgotten quickly enough. Too bad, too, because I wouldn't have minded remembering how we beat the pants off Cole Hamels. Oh, well.
Today we'll pitch Jorge Campillo against Joe Blanton. Both are innings-eaters without a huge fastball, and both will have a very low margin for error in Citizens Bank Park, where neither has ever started a game. (Campillo has pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in 2 relief appearances there, scattering 6 hits.) Overall, Campillo's got a 5.27 ERA in 13 2/3 innings against the Phillies. Blanton has never faced the Braves, but in his past life he went gangbusters against his new team, a 1.84 ERA in 14 2/3 IP.
I'm not going to bother predicting the outcome. We had a terrible, awful loss yesterday. Blanton's a guy who's going to give up a ton of hits, and if we push some runs across we might have a chance. But Campillo's gonna have to make sure he doesn't hang
anything.
