It's baseball season, baby!
(UPDATE: Yes, the Sox won, dammitall.)
The baseball season officially begins in about 5 and a half hours. The Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics will play the first game of the year in Tokyo. (Naturally, the Sox will start Daisuke Matsuzaka.)
The jury's kind of still out on these Japan exhibitions they've done a few times in the past few years: apparently the coolness factor is pretty convincingly balanced by the way the overwhelming jet lag exhausts the players on both teams for the next week or two of games, which sucks for their fans.
But because I don't really care about either of the teams, or, frankly, about the DH-loving Junior Circuit in general, I'm happy to revel in the coolness factor, and this undeniable fact:
