Weekly: 2 2/3 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K Season: 0-1, 7.71 ERA, 7 H, 1 BB, 7 K An interesting week for the organization. Julio Teheran had a short start, and Mike Minor and Zeke Spruill had short starts where they got absolutely thrashed, especially Spruill. Really rough weeks at the top of the list for Freddie Freeman and Christian Bethancourt. Not the start Freeman was looking for to begin the year, and Bethancourt hit a rough patch after a great first week. Cody Johnson continues to strike out at an absurd, record setting pace, which is...more than worrisome. Its laughable at this point. There are two players that stand out to me for the players of the week, though...without any further ado... PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Chris Masters, Rome. HITTER OF THE WEEK: Gerardo Rodriguez, Myrtle Beach. Both men are making early cases to be bumped up a level. Rodriguez would be dynamite in the anemic Mississippi offense, while Masters is already old for the Sally League and would look good on that great Myrtle Beach pitching staff. Also worth looking at is the performance by the older crew in Gwinnett, who are looking for major league roster spots...what the hell has gotten into Chris Resop?! If he's able to keep this up, maybe I won't have a massive amount of hatred for him anymore. I'll be back in 7 days with another look at the Braves minor leaguers...here's hoping that things improve for some of the more highly regarded members of the organization.
