Brian McCann. Elected as a reserve on the player ballot. Still has not started an All-Star Game, which is completely insane.
Tim Hudson. Elected as a reserve by NL manager Charlie Manuel.
Martin Prado. Elected as a reserve on the player ballot. Will start the game due to the injury to Phillies 2B Chase Utley.
Omar Infante. Wait, what? Elected as a reserve by NL manager Charlie Manuel. Seriously, Omar Infante is an All-Star. Omar Infante with the .721 OPS on the season. Am I having some sort of hallucination here? Unbelievable.
In addition to those 5, Billy Wagner (who should have been on the team in the first place, but Manuel decided it would be a good idea to take middle reliever Arthur Rhodes instead) is on the Final Vote ballot, along with Heath Bell, Carlos Gonzalez, Ryan Zimmerman, and Joey Votto. So essentially...Wagner is going to be finishing third on that ballot. He'll probably still end up making the team anyway, since pitchers always drop out of the game with injuries before it happens.
