He's been cut already. but I guess it would be good to see what you can expect from Hyde in 2010. Lee Hyde is a very interesting pitcher. He's been in the organization since 2006, but has only totaled 96 innings, ranging from Danville all the way up to Gwinnett. He spent last season in Danville, Myrtle Beach, and Mississippi, where he threw 35 2/3 innings, striking out 45, walking 15, and allowing only one home run. Rather good numbers. 2009 was the first  real significant season in Hyde's career, as he threw more innings last year than the past 2 combined after some injuries deprived him of much of a 2008 season. Hyde has usually had good peripherals across the board over his career, with a lot of strikeouts (97), a walk total thats high but not absurdly high (44), and an ability to keep the ball in the park (only 3 HR allowed). This season was a coming out party for Hyde, and I think you need to weigh it more heavily in comparison to his prior seasons, when he was much younger and/or battling injuries. He had a brief albeit interesting spring, only pitching 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, 2 walks, and striking out 1, and allowing 2 runs to score. Its obviously a very small sample size, but I think the 3 wild pitches in the game against Detroit last Monday didn't help matters. Hyde needs to fine tune his control a little more, and will most likely spend 2010 in Gwinnett. Final projection: spends the year at Gwinnett, but could get a callup if there is an injury to the major league roster.
