Todd Redmond throws no hitter

Written by Joe Lucia on .

Seriously, this just happened. I'm not lying. If there would have been a no hitter in this Louisville-Gwinnett series, it would have come with Aroldis Chapman on the mound for Louisville. But alas...it actually came tonight, with the G-Braves ace (cough) Todd Redmond on the hill. Yes, Todd Redmond...the control pitcher who doesn't overpower anyone. And he didn't overpower anyone tonight: 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Thats it. Redmond wasn't even inducing any ground balls, with 15 outs coming in the air and only 8 on the ground. Regardless...it is one HELL of an achievement to throw a no hitter at any level. Also worth noting during the game is that Jordan Schafer went 0 for 4 and Freddie Freeman went 0 for 1 and was pulled after his first AB, no word on why. Congratulations to Todd. You'll be the BH minor league pitcher of the week for sure with that effort!
